SkyRC eN18 is more than just a peak charger - it's a versatile peak charger capable of charging both electric car battery packs and nitro car receiver packs. This is possible because the SkyRC eN18 offers voltage ranging from 4.8 to 14.4V at 1.2 amp. You can charge 6-8 cell NiMH battery packs as found in most electric cars, trucks, and buggies. With the 1.2 amp charge rate, you can safely fast charge any 4-5 cell nitro car NiMH receiver's pack.
Delta-V Peak detection
With the Delta Peak detection circuitry, the SkyRC eN18 allows your batteries to reach their full capacity when charging, so you can get the most power and run time from your batteries. It achieves this by using peak detection circuitry that monitors the voltage of the battery pack while it's being charged and automatically shuts the charger off when the packs' voltage peaks and then starts to drop. This is in contrast to a timed charger, where you often end up with a battery pack that's not fully charged.

Like all batteries to self-discharge, NiMH batteries even have a relatively high self-discharge rate of about 1% per day. Trickle charging can keep NiMH batteries in optimal condition to replenish the charge that is continually draining off.
