"The Tornado ASSTA 3.1 is
the most modern Tornado in the German Air Force. ASSTA stands for
Avionics System Software Tornado in the programming language Ada. With
this upgrade the Tornado will be able to deploy GBU-54 LJDAM laser and
GPS-guided precision ammunition and dial into NATO's latest Link 16 data
network. All Luftwaffe Tornado's are to be converted successively to
this standard.
